President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment and reappointment of the Board Chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement issued Thursday said it was in furtherance of the determination to bring world class standards to Nigerian public health administration and to manifest his commitment to deliver affordable and quality care to all Nigerians.
The president has appointed Dr. Mansur Kabir as the Board Chairperson of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and Prof. Moji Adeyeye Chief Executive Officer.
Ngilale said the president also approved the appointment of Prof. Abba Zubairu as the Board Chairperson of the National Blood Service Commission (NBSC) and Dr. Saleh Yuguda as the Chief Executive Officer.
He added that Prof. Afolabi Lesi was also appointed as the Board Chairperson of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and Dr. Fatima Kyari as the Chief Executive Officer.
Ajuri noted that the president also appointed Pharm. Wasilat Giwa as the Board Chairperson of Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and Pharm. Ibrahim Ahmed as the Chief Executive Officer.
He stressed that tg President further approved the appointment of Dr. Babajide Salako as Board Chairperson of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and Dr. Tosan Erhabor as the Chief Executive Officer.
President Tinubu also appointed Prof. Adamu Bakari as the Chief Medical Director/CEO of Moddibo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola (MAUTH), while Prof. Reuben Eifediyi was appointed as the Chief Medical Director/CEO of Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua (ISTH).
