Following an intelligence-led operation against Boko Haram terrorists in the Lamusuri general area, Gujba LGA of Yobe State, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated a Boko Haram terrorist.
Its Acting Military Information Officer, Capt. Mohammed Goni in a statement issued Wednesday said at about 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, troops of 120 Task Force Battalion under sector 2, in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), acting on credible intelligence, conducted an operation along a suspected terrorist route within the area.
He explained that during the operation, troops sighted a group of Boko Haram terrorists moving along the identified route and engaged them.
Goni stressed that a firefight ensued, during which one terrorist was neutralised, while others fled the area with suspected gunshot wounds.
He added: “Following the engagement, troops conducted an exploitation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 3 magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and one body pouch.”
Goni said the successful operation underscores the effectiveness of sustained intelligence-led operations and the continued collaboration between troops and local security stakeholders in identifying and disrupting terrorist activities across the North East Theatre.
