Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued three kidnapped victims following a distress call from local residents on terrorist activities along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State on September 3, 2026.
Its Media Information Officer, Lt-Col. Aliyu Danja, in a statement issued Friday said acting on the distress call, troops in collaboration with the personnel of the Nigeria Police swiftly mobilised to the scene and made contact with the terrorists, overwhelming them with superior firepower.
He added that the terrorists fled in disarray into the surrounding bush abandoning their victims.
Danja revealed that exploitation of the general area led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims along with two vehicles used by the terrorists.
He stressed that the rescued victims and recovered vehicles were subsequently handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, Dandume, while troops continue to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols to deny the terrorists freedom of action.
