Five girls who were previously out of school have returned to the classroom following their enrollment into Junior Secondary School 1 at Junior Secondary School, Kubwa II, Bwari Area Council, Abuja, under the Daisy Oak Back to School Initiative.
The initiative, according to the Founder, Dr. Kiema Ogunlana provides full scholarship support that will cover the beneficiaries throughout their secondary school education.
According to her, the intervention goes beyond re-enrollment. Daisy Oak Foundation is responsible for covering school fees and all other school-related payments, as well as providing school uniforms for the five girls.
Ogunlana revealed that the initiative was implemented in partnership with other organisations.
She added that the Legacy of Hope Foundation donated school bags and other essential learning materials, while Just Fix It Synergy Nigeria Ltd. provided books to support the girls’ learning.
Ogunlana added: “For a child who has been out of school, returning to the classroom offers a fresh start, an opportunity to learn alongside peers, rediscover the joy of learning, and pursue dreams that once seemed out of reach.”
She pointed out that the impact of the initiative goes beyond getting five girls back into the classroom.
Ogunlana noted: “It is about giving them the opportunity to learn, grow, and complete their secondary education with the support they need along the way.
” Through the initiative and the collective efforts of its partners, the organization said it is helping to remove barriers to education and create opportunities for girls to pursue their dreams.
” Five girls are now back in school, marking the beginning of a new journey with renewed possibilities for their future.”
