The Governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf has commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of King Salman Bin Abdul’aziz for sponsoring the surgery of Kano conjoined twins at a Saudi based hospital in Riyadh.
Speaking while bidding farewell to the parents of conjoined twin babies at Aminu Kano International Airport, the governor described the kind gesture of King Salman as a God rewarding venture worthy of emulation by others.
Yusuf in a statement issued Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Tofa recalled that recently Saudi Arabian Doctors were at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, to treat patients suffering from heart ailments and eyes problems free of charge.
Yusuf assured that his government would not relent in its efforts of restoring the lost glory of the state Health sector.
Earlier, the Saudi Consul General in Kano, Shiekh Khalil Al’adamawi said the initiative was a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian causes and dedication to helping those in need.
He added that the gesture is usually extended to the needy regardless of their nationality or background, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been at the forefront of providing international humanitarian aid.
Al’adamawi noted that the parents of the conjoined twins would be accommodated in Riyadh, adding that support system woud be provided to them for maximum comfort and assistance throughout the journey.
