A group under the aegis of the he National Coalition Against Terrorism (NCAT) has alleged that Kwankwasiyya Movement has perfected plans to cause civil unrest in Kano and Abuja.
Its National Coordinator, Terrence Kuanum, stated this while addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.
He warned that if nothing is done quickly, Kwankwasiyya Moment might set the country ablaze following the recent court judgement sacking governor Abba Yusuf as elected governor of Kano state.
It said this action has started already with pockets of protest by a few rioters in the guise of protesting the Appeal Court Judgment which confirms the sacking of Abba Kabir Yusuf as Governor of Kano State.
Kuanum alleged that the Kwankwasiyya group has equally commissioned some individuals which they have identified to cause violence in Abuja and other parts of the country in the next few days.
It, therefore, called on the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) to immediately invite former Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso for interrogation over recent protests, attacks on citizens and the judiciary.
Kuanum added: “Without reservation, we call on the Director General of State Security Service to immediately invite Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for interrogation before Kwankwasiyya set the country on fire.
“In the next few days, they have planned to lead coordinated attacks on the image and person of the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu while the civil unrest is ongoing.
“We are in the know that the Kwankwasiyya group has also hired some people to coordinate some selected civil society organisations to blackmail the judiciary and bastardise the image and integrity of Mr President.
“The call for Kwankwaso’s interrogation as the leader of Kwankwasiyya Movement is a task that must happen now because, we cannot afford to entertain any act of terrorism at the moment.”
