Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) operating under Sector 3 in Mongunu, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have intercepted a suspected terrorist courier conveying suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making materials. Chief Military Information Officer, Lt-Col. Olaniyi Osoba in a statement issued Friday said the suspect, Mr Murktar Chari was arrested at the entrance to Gubio Local Government Area on Thursday, 2 January 2025 in a significant counter-terrorism operation. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has revealed that the 125,000 barrels per day Warri Refining & Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) in Warri, Delta State has commenced operations.
