President Bola Tinubu has scrapped the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of sports development. The decision was taken on Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) ministry. The National Sports Commission would take over the role of the Ministry of Sports. The FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy. There would now be a Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, North East Development Commission.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the Rivers State Chapter’s elective congresses indefinitely. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 55,859 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) from the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Ondo State were collected in all the 203 Wards across the State within five days. The House of Representatives has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to tackle under-financing in the agricultural chain by providing the Nigeria Incentive Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) with an additional $3 billion.
