The immediate past Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika says the House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Aviation, Hon. Nnorli Nnaji, demanded five percent shares in the Nigeria Air as bribe to support the project.
The Minister made the allegation during an interview on Arise TV.
TheHintsNews reports that Nnaji during an investigative hearing by the Aviation Committee last week described the purported “launch” of Nigeria Air as a fraud and called for prosecution of the ministry officials involved in Nigeria Air.
Sirika said the lawmaker said he wanted five percent of the stakes in “Nigeria Air for him and his people.”
The Minister said he directed him to the shareholders of the Nigeria Air to buy the stakes.
The ex-minister also said the federal government has released less than N3 billion budgetary allocation to Nigerian Air since the inception of the project in 2016.
