Ahead of Tuesday’s inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, two aspirants for the position of House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Aliyu Betara and Hon. Yusuf Gagdi agreed have agreed to stepdown for Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
Their decision to step down followed their meeting with President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
TheHintsNews reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recently endorsed Abbas as the Speaker of the 10th House while Hon. Ben Kalu was also endorsed as his deputy.
In the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio was endorsed as the next Senate President and Senator Jibrin Barau as his Deputy.
