The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, has reserved judgement in the appeal filed by the Governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf.
Recall that the Kano State governorship election petition tribunal had on the 20th of September, 2023 sacked Abba Yusuf of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) as Governor of Kano State and declared Dr. Nasiru Gawun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the duly elected Governor of the State after separating over 165,000 invalid votes earlier allocated to the NNPP in the March 18th 2023 governorship poll.
The tribunal also declared that 165,663 of his votes were invalid.
However, Yusuf is challenging his removal by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
The panel had ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not sign or stamp the ballot papers.
Yusuf, however, appealed against the tribunal verdict and urged the court to set aside the judgment.
