The National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has donated medical equipment to Umuezeoka General Hospital.
The donation was a direct result of a thorough needs assessment carried out by NLTF after a request by the community development association.
The Special Assistant on Media and Corporate Communications to the Executive Secretary NLTF, Arowolo Alaba in a statement issued Sunday said the items are: Digital ultrasound machine, X-ray machine, Suction machine, Stethoscope (S), and mortuary complex to the General Hospital Umuezeoka in Ebonyi State.
The complex, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, was formally handed over to the general hospital by NLTF Executive Secretary, Tosin Adeyanju.
Adeyanju said: “This project is a testament to President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to promoting good health and wellbeing in Nigeria.
“Our agency’s mandate is to intervene in sports development, education, environment, health, disaster management, agriculture and other activities promoting good causes.
“This facility is now yours, and we entrust it to your care as a community. Please ensure proper maintenance and utilization of the equipment. Our staff will monitor usage and condition periodically.”
The state Governor, Hon. Francis Nwifuru, commended the Executive Secretary for “exceptional job, giving me hope for a brighter future.
He noted: “I am thrilled that this facility was requested by the community and built without asking for assistance from the state government. The National Lottery Trust Fund’s approach to promoting good causes is truly commendable.”
“The fact that you came to Ebonyi shows that we are not forgotten. Your presence boosts our confidence, especially as we’re already seeing the benefits. The president’s administration has been courageous, particularly in removing fuel subsidies. NLTF’s initiative encourages us in the South East, reminding us that we are remembered.
“We are committed to working with you and we implore you to involve us in your future projects.”
