The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raked in the sum of N1,080,000,000 from the disqualified National Assembly aspirants ahead of the 2927 elections.
TheHintsNews reports that the ruling party on Sunday announced that 14 House of Representatives aspirants were disqualified from the primary election.
Similarly, on. Monday the ruling party revealed that 47 Senatorial aspirants were also disqualified, even as the primary elections get underway across the states.
Recall that the ruling party had sold the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms from the House of Representatives at the cost of N10 million, while that of the Senate was sold at the cost of N20 million.
With 47 Senatorial aspirants disqualified, it showed that the ruling party made the sum of N940 million from the sale of forms to the disqualified aspirants, ; while the sum of N140 million was realized from the 14 House of Representatives aspirants.
Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka in a statement issued Monday said the screening exercise was conducted by the party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
According to the list released by the party, the Chairman of Silverbird Televisions, Senator Ben Bruce and the President of Miyetti Allah, Bello Bodejo were among the aspirants disqualified from the primary elections.
Morka noted: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases the list of Senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the Party’s Senate Primary Elections.”
The list revealed that Zamfara and Oyo states led with the highest number of disqualified aspirants as seven aspirants were disqualified from each state.
The aspirants disqualified from Zamfara are: Sanusi Garachi, Aliyu Abubakar, Muhammad Maru,Hassan Muhammad Gusau — all from Zamfara Central Senatorial District; while Abubakar Moriiki, Bilyaminu Yusuf — Zamfara North Senatorial District and Isyaka Anka – Zamfara West Senatorial District.
The aspirants disqualified from Oyo were: Ajimobi Adegboyega – Oyo North Senatorial District; Kolapoboye Kola Daisi and Amb. Akinremi Bolaji – both from Oyo South Senatorial District; Faozey Nurudeen, Hon. Hameed Repete – both from Oyo Central Senatorial District and Ademola Alli – Oyo Central Senatorial District.
