The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to pay attention to the potentials for disruptive behaviour by some candidates and their supporters ahead of the forthcoming by-elections scheduled to hold on February 3, 2024. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Monday said road crashes, claimed the lives of 335 people between December 15, 2023 to January 15, 2024. Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja to mark the end of Operation Zero Tolerance Exercise, the Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu , noted that the casualties represented four per cent reduction. Biu hinted that between 15 of December, 2023 and 15 January, 2024, which marked the period of the special patrol operations, a total of 634 road traffic crashes took place nationwide, as against 535 in the same period in 2022 representing 19 per cent increase.…

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police anti-kidnapping squad, in a joint operation with the Nigerian Army, successfully rescued five out of the six Al-Kadriyar sisters abducted from the Bwari area of Abuja in early January. The Nigeria Customs Service Lilypond Export Command has recorded a Free On Board (FOB) value of $701,784,984 in export earnings during 2023. Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Ajibola Odusanya, disclosed this Thursday that the Command processed 18,407 containers, both 20ft and 40ft, weighing 688,097 metric tons.
