Duvalier Limited, the contractor paid the sum of N45.8 million for the electrification of Boto Town in Tafawa Balewa local government area in Bauchi State has abandoned the project.
The project, according to Tracka, was captured in the 2022 Appropriation Act with the National Rural Electrification Agency as the executing agency.
The contractor, it was gathered, visited the community to fix only the high tension wires which were not even completed.
Tracka stated: “N45.8 million was PAID to Duvalier Limited for the Rural Electrification in Boto Town, Tafawa Balewa LGA, Bauchi in the 2022 FG Budget.
“We tracked and reported that this project has been abandoned. The contractor visited the community to fix only the high tension wires which were not even completed.
“The two transformers that the community depends on have been faulty for the past 8 years.
“We call on the National Rural Electrification Agency, the executing agency, to call the contractor back to site immediately as funds have been disbursed for this project.”
