The All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman, North, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has taken over as the acting National Chairman of the party.
He assumed the office following the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdulahi Adamu and the Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Kyari confirmed the resignation of both Adamu and Omisore at the end of National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on Monday in Abuja.
Kyari, while addressing journalists after the meeting said the caucus meeting and National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday have been postponed.
He noted that a new date for the meetings would be announced
Kyari stated: “The NWC wishes to inform you of the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdulahi Adamu and Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
“It is now incumbent on me as the Deputy National Chairman, North, and the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuantar to assume the roles.’
“There are no allegations against them and both of them resigned voluntarily.”
