The Acting President of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Felix Olu, says the new Act establishing the Chartered Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers of Nigeria (CIEEEN) will address the issue of quackery in the profession. The CIEEEN bill was passed by the Senate in June 2022 and was subsequently signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), says it has set 140 and above as the cut off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities in the country. The examination body also approved 100 as cut off mark into Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and awards on Saturday in Abuja. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed financial Institutions to obtain the social media handle, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, residential addresses, among others from their customers. The apex bank disclosed this in its newly released titled, ‘‘Central Bank of Nigeria (Customer Due Diligence) Regulations, 2023’’ document. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), says it will commence the review of 2023 elections in July.
