The Kano State government has established three treatment centres to curb the spread diphtheria which has left over 130 people hospitalised. Diphtheria is a serious infection of the nose and throat that’s easily preventable by a vaccine. A sheet of thick, grey matter covers the back of the throat, making breathing hard. Symptoms include sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes and weakness. As Nigerians await the nomination of 13 remaining ministerial nominees, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila has hinted that President Bola Tinubu will create new ministries. Following the submission of the much-awaited ministerial nominees’ list  by President Bola Tinubu  on Thursday,  the Senate, says, it will commence the screening of the nominees on Monday.  However, the list sent by the President only contained names of nominees from 25 states, leaving out 11 states without nominees at the moment. The 11 states included: Lagos, Kano, Adamawa, Bayelsa, Gombe, Kebbi, Kogi, Osun, Plateau, Yobe and Zamfara. The House of Representatives has directed the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) to immediately suspend the acquisition of OVH Energy Marketing. It also called on the entity to propose relocation of the NNPC Retail Head office from Abuja to Lagos pending the outcome of the investigation.
